The machine will be available from the end of October 2026.
A press suited to short and medium runs
With a maximum sheet size of 520 × 360 mm and a speed of up to 15,000 sheets/hour, the SM 52-2 is particularly well suited to short and medium print runs. Its reputation is well established, and Heidelberg presented this machine as a high-end small-format press designed for general commercial printing, particularly for short lead times and frequent job changes.
Its format and two-colour configuration make it particularly suitable for the production of notebooks, forms and business documents, with the possibility of producing numbered prints thanks to its original numbering unit.
It is the perfect complement for a printer who already owns a four-colour press. The SM 52-2 provides a relatively compact production machine while offering a speed of 15,000 sheets/hour.
A configuration designed to reduce makeready times
This SM 52-2 is equipped with several features designed to reduce downtime during job changes.
The Heidelberg AutoPlate system automates plate changing and reduces the time required for makeready between two jobs. According to the manufacturer's data, a plate can be changed in less than one minute per printing unit, which is particularly valuable on a machine intended for short and medium runs, where job changes are frequent.
The automatic washing system for the cylinders, blankets and inking unit automates this operation between jobs and reduces the manual intervention required to clean the press.
The double-sheet detector detects two sheets being fed simultaneously and helps limit the risk of incidents in the press.
The press is also equipped with the Alcolor system, which regulates the dampening film, helping to ensure vivid colours and sharp, bright images.
All these features reduce operator intervention time and help limit production downtime.
A Baldwin cooling system completes this configuration.
A complete machine
The press is sold with all its tools, as well as its original numbering unit.
Having been maintained by its operator for many years, this machine benefits from a transparent maintenance history and allows for a quick return to production.
A well-maintained machine from 2001
One of the main points to note about this SM 52-2 is its condition.
The machine is in perfect working condition, with an appearance close to new and no damage observed on the cylinders or printing units.
It can currently be inspected while running.
With its 50 million impressions, AutoPlate, Alcolor, Baldwin cooling and automatic cylinder and blanket washing, this SM 52-2 offers a particularly complete configuration for a press of this format and age.
Why invest in a HEIDELBERG SM 52-2
This Heidelberg SM 52-2 is aimed at printers looking for a two-colour press for short and medium runs where job changes are frequent.
Its main advantage lies in the combination of a 52 × 36 cm format, a maximum speed of 15,000 sheets/hour and reliable sheet handling even at high speed, with sheet arrival and positioning control helping to reduce the risk of production stoppages and operator intervention.
AutoPlate, automatic cylinder and blanket washing and the Alcolor system help reduce manual operations and facilitate press operation on short or medium runs as well as during frequent job changes.
The machine is sold with its numbering unit and all its tools, and can be inspected while running before dismantling.

The machine is currently available for inspection while running in France.
